BIM²form System Requirements

BIM²form is an add-in for Autodesk® Revit® and therefore requires an existing Autodesk Revit installation. The technical system requirements of BIM²form follow the system requirements of the supported Revit versions, in particular operating system, processor, memory, graphics card, disk space and screen resolution.

Notice
BIM²form is currently based on .NET 8. Compatibility with Autodesk's upcoming .NET 10 updates for Revit 2025 and 2026 is currently being evaluated. Until testing is complete, we recommend postponing Revit updates.
Software
Autodesk Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026, full version. Revit LT is not supported.
Operating system
Windows 10 and Windows 11, both 64-bit. No macOS, no Linux.
Hardware
Follows the Autodesk system requirements for the Revit version you use.
Licenses
A valid Autodesk Revit license plus a BIM²form account from a trial or a subscription.
Internet
Needed for registration, first sign-in and regular license validation.
Language
BIM²form is available in German and English.

Frequently asked questions
System requirements and compatibility
Which Autodesk Revit versions does BIM²form support?
BIM²form currently supports Autodesk Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Is Revit LT supported?
No. Autodesk Revit add-ins are only supported by the full version of Revit. Revit LT is therefore not supported.
Does BIM²form need an installed version of Revit?
Yes. BIM²form is an add-in for Autodesk Revit and requires an existing Revit installation.
Which languages are supported?
BIM²form is currently available in German and English. German with a German Revit language setting, English with every other supported Revit language setting.
Which operating systems are supported?
BIM²form supports the Windows versions released by Autodesk for Revit, currently Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 (64-bit).
Can BIM²form be used on macOS or Linux?
No. Because of the Revit platform, BIM²form is available for Windows only.
Can BIM²form be used with several Revit versions in parallel?
Yes. BIM²form supports the released Revit versions 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Which hardware do you recommend?
The hardware requirements of BIM²form follow the Autodesk system requirements for Revit. For best performance we recommend the hardware configuration Autodesk lists as recommended for the Revit version you use.
Licensing and internet connection
Do I need an Autodesk Revit license?
Yes. A valid Autodesk Revit license is required to use BIM²form.
Do I need a BIM²form account?
Yes. A BIM²form account is required. It comes either with a trial access or with an active subscription.
Is an internet connection required?
Yes. An internet connection is required for registration, for the first sign-in and for regular license validation.
Can BIM²form be used offline?
Yes. Offline use is possible for a limited time. The license must have been validated successfully beforehand.
Installation
Do I need administrator rights to install?
Yes. Local administrator rights are required to install BIM²form.
How do I get the installer?
The current installer is available in the download area on our website, on the Resources page.
Are updates installed automatically?
No. New versions are shipped as current installer packages and have to be installed manually.
Corporate environments and IT
Can BIM²form be used in corporate environments?
Yes. BIM²form can be used in managed IT environments.
Does BIM²form work with Citrix or virtual desktops?
There are currently no known incompatibilities with Citrix, virtual desktop or comparable environments. These scenarios have not been explicitly tested. If you plan to run BIM²form this way, talk to us and we will support your test.
Is project data transferred to BIM²?
No. BIM²form stores no project data outside your Revit projects.

For license management, user data such as name and email address is processed. Details are in our privacy policy.
